Lake Michigan Autumn Wedding | Amanda & Cortney

Jamie & Eric were one of the first and best wedding decisions we made. It was important to both of us to find photographers who could not only take great pictures, but who were great people above all else. J&E felt like old friends who belonged in the group, but who happened to be carrying around cameras to capture the moment. Their care and effort in getting to know our personalities, our friends, and our priorities made for a fun weekend -- not to mention absolutely stunning pictures to help us relive the memories!

Authenticity was the theme of our wedding planning, so on a chilly day in October, we gathered 60 of our closest family and friends in a backyard festive event to exchange vows our own way. Every part of the day was an intentional reflection of us - entrusting our personal aesthetics to our good friends at Mak, fun photo shoot in SW Michigan's natural fall beauty, intimate observation of Shabbat, happy hour with our respective inner circle of friends, private gift exchange and toast, ceremony led by two of our oldest and dearest friends, and a delicious taco bar from our favorite local date night spot. The evening was exactly how we envisioned celebrating our first night as a married couple - good food and good drinks with our favorite people.

With the formalities behind us, it was time to party! Despite mother nature's best attempt to scare them away, 150 of the most influential people in our lives joined us at a local brewery for a fun night of wood-fired pizza, craft beer, and live music from one of our favorite musicians - our favorite sweet treats baked by family and friends made the night extra special!  We laughed, danced, and sang along until the "Piano Man" signaled the end of the night.

The weekend flew by, so thank goodness we have beautiful pictures to tell the story. We do our best to try to stay present, enjoy the moment, and to not under-appreciate how fortunate we are to be surrounded by amazing people - that's never been more evident than it was that weekend, and we'll forever be grateful for all who helped make it unforgettable!  - Amanda and Cortney.
